I can’t raise 2 of her kids

My best friend for 22 years called me Saturday and told me she thinks her body is slowly shutting down due to her uncontrolled diabetes- she’s had it since she was 6 and is now 30. She has an 8 year old son who I have helped raise. She had never taken care of her diabetes as long as I’ve known her and says she now had retinopathy, neuropathy, and gastroparesis which is making it hard for her body to absorb nutrients and believes her kidneys are shutting down. She had a talk with her 8 year old and told him she would be dying sooner than later- she doesn’t give herself 2 years. (Has not seen a dr tho for actual prognosis)But anyways he chose me to live with. But he has a dad. The dad is just irresponsible( last minute can’t keep him, forgets to pick him up etc) so my friend was asking if I would adopt her son. Of course I’d do anything for him but I don’t think it works that way. I have recently told her we have been struggling for 2 years to get pregnant . 2 nights ago after she tells me she’s dying- sends me this..

My heart is just so broken, I feel angry and mad . There’s so many emotions- a part of me feels like she’s just overdramatizing it . But I know she is sick but apparently her body is well enough to get pregnant
