Question for people living in Florida

Hey I am hoping someone living or has lived in Florida can answer this question for me

I am visiting my friend next week who lives in st augenstin. I am hoping to see an alligator or crocodile at some point. I know they are really popular in Florida. I will be there for 5 days, what are the chances I will see one? Do they even just like walk down the street, or will I have to actively search for one? My friend moved there September 3rd and she hasn’t seen any walking down the street yet, so I know it’s unlikely I will see one without going out to look. She hasn’t had time yet to actively search for one either since she’s only been there about a month, but I am thinking that’s probably what I will have to do. Does anyone know where we can find one around the st augenstine area?
