Is too much movement ever concerning?

A

Hi! I’m a FTM and a plus size woman. I thought for sure I wouldn’t be able to feel my baby boy until 20-24 weeks as that’s what I heard is normal for us big girls ( I carry a lot of weight in my stomach).

I am 18w tomorrow and I have been able to feel him since 16w4d. Not daily at first but slight movement here and there for about a week. Though since Sunday 17w3d I have started to feel him daily. And not just little movement but big movements. Even my husband could feel him punching (or kicking) at one point cause it was a little bumped out from my stomach. Sometimes I can track him as he moves from place to place in my uterus. Mostly it’s short burst (a couple minutes) of crazy movement followed by several hours of no movement. But if I start rubbing my stomach he normally becomes active again.

I realized that I’m very fortunate, and with this being my miracle IVF rainbow baby I don’t take a second for granted. It’s been such a relief to feel him moving. But then I started to panic a little. Is it normal to be able to feel *this* clearly at this stage? Could this be an indication of something like low amniotic fluid? Or baby growing too quickly?

This might sound silly, but after 5 lost pregnancies I am very good at overthinking, and stressing myself out. And when it’s described this early it’s called a quickening or flutter feeling. But it’s way more clear than that to me, and it’s got me back in my old habit of overthinking.

(I sent a message to my nurse but it’s the end of the day here and I doubt I’ll get a response tonight)
