How is a divorce done?

I’m getting a divorce and I don’t know one thing about it. Why does the process take long? Also, this might sound very dumb but do they take care of switching your married name back to your original last name? Or do I have to change my social security and everything on my own?

Divorce varies by person drama the more complicated it is the longer it takes, if you have children, you own a home, you own properties, you own a business, it obviously takes more time division of assets, houses need to be sold, separated, Money said aside for child support or alimony, pensions, life insurance all that stuff Hass to be changed, you have to change everything yourself, from your Social Security card your drivers license your bank account your credit cards even your rewards programs, like your frequent flyer miles, everything has to be changed with your name, can you bring your divorce decree to motor vehicle Social Security etc. and they should be able to change it for you, some divorces are quick, there’s nothing that needs to be divided. Sometimes people just want out and don’t care about anything else, those divorces are pretty quick, but when there’s fighting over furniture and heirlooms in pension and so many other things, that’s why it takes so long. They settle on a number especially when there’s a lot of money involved, like Jeff Bezos who owns Amazon, his wife got $39 billion because of his infidelity.￼￼

You have to switch everything back. There’s a page that you put your maiden name and the judge will grant it back to you. I filled everything out myself and it’s set for dec 15th
