Is my ex a pedophile?

My ex and I dated for 4 years. We are both 21 and broke up because things were getting extremely toxic. I come to find out he is now dating a girl who just turned 17! I know a 4 year age gap isn’t a lot but in this case, she is still a minor! Do you guys think that’s okay? I certainly don’t think it’s okay but maybe I’m biased. Of course it hurts seeing him do this after spending 4 years with him, but I think this is a pedophile move. Why do you guys think he’s going after a minor? Have any of you been in a similar situation?

That's disgusting. I would say yes. Someone who just turned 17 is a child. He is a grown man. He's preying in someone much younger and in a much different stage of life.

My youngest sister just turned 16 and the level of maturity she has is no where near 21 .. plus EVERYBODY knows the legal age of consent in this country and the fact that he’s okay with this is wrong PERIOD!

Uhm, depending on the state you’re in. Florida law you can be 16 and be w a 23. That is legal as long as you have adult consent.

I met my boyfriend when I was 17 and a half and he was 21. We’ve been together for 5 years now I’m 22 and he’s 26 and we have a 3 yr old son together. I don’t consider that to be pedophilic (he was very polite and never initiated anything sexual with me and wouldn’t allow me to send him any explicit or lewd images of myself until I was 18) 
However if your ex is with a 17 year old and he’s preying upon her for being so young and he’s manipulative or trying to use her for sex that is predatory behavior. She’s not a prepubescent child so I don’t consider your ex to be a pedophile based on this alone. But he could be a predator.
