One and done??

Please tell me everyone else is struggling? Madeleine is an absolute nightmare now.  We were trying for baby #2 and now we've decided not to just because of how much stress we're suddenly under. No way could we handle two right now! 
She hits, screams, bites and throws things CONSTANTLY. Her mood switches soo fast I never know what to expect. She's always so emotional. She breaks things all the time. We ask her why and it's always "I have to!" Time outs do not work. Taking toys don't work. Talks don't work. Bedtime is a 2-3 hour fight every single night leaving us exhausted and just mad to be honest. My husband and I both feel like we're failing. Is this how all children this age act?? Please tell us we aren't alone!!

You’re not alone. My June toddler is an absolute terror right now. My older toddler was a terror at a much younger age, so I had hoped we missed it with June toddler, but nope. I can’t even imagine being pregnant/ having another.

I think we’re all in the same boat.  Tons of No’s!!! My son loves to throw himself on the floor in protest for everything.  That’s a ton of fun in public (queue the sarcasm).

You are absolutely not alone! Nolan is such a troublemaker. He literally looks me in the eye as I’m asking him not to do something and does it anyways. Multiple times in a row. The food throwing is driving me absolutely bonkers. And he’s an incredibly picky eater which is the opposite of what I try to instill in him. It’s chicken nuggets or nothing. He’s been good with bed time but definitely has his nights. Tonight is one of them 🙃 toddlers are impossible sometimes. I just keep reminding myself to keep trying and eventually things will click.

Norah started acting out a little more recently. She’s always been sassy but she started to hit sometimes if she doesn’t get her way, kicks when we we change her diaper and she does this spitting thing when you say something she doesn’t wanna hear. I’m told by everyone that it’s her age and she’s testing limits

Ours are 10 months apart and my June babe (the older one) is an absolute terror most of the time. And my 18 month Ild is copying her. I’m absolutely exhausted.

You aint alone. How she is behaving now shouldn't make you rule out another child. Every child is  different. 
What I do is I give my son calm therapy. We  go outside into the nature. A quiet place, not malls or places with crowds. Or I make the whole house silent and quiet. Remove anything might excite or make him hyper and I myself will become quiet and mind my business. I dont debate with my son.   He will cry scream hit but after a while, sit. Letting him have a good hearty cry does get him angrier but alsi gets him tired and sleepy so when i finqlly come to cqlm him, i know it he will have worked off all the energy and string will and wants comfort.  If he is still upset and crying but not too hostile, I will ask him what he wants then I will offer him a tight hug and do breathing exercises with him feeling my chest go up and down and I will maybe whisper "breath or say it is ok." Always works like a charm. Kids feed off energy around them or what they see or sorrounding. Today i bored my child into sleep. I myself found myself asleep and he was sleeping on my lap. How we both slept after a huge meltdown i dont know but i guess removing all noise and diming house did the trick.
