Anyone over age 35 offered elective induction ?

I’m curious to hear from anyone over age 35 who was offered elective induction? I’m being offered the option and don’t know if I should do it or not. I have no signs of labor so far and have not been cervical checked. I’m 39 weeks yesterday.

I wouldnt accept it. I would still wait for spontaneous labor. Inductions have higher risks for csections

I have had 4 medically necessary inductions, 2 were over age 35, 2 of the 4 ended in c section. Pitocin contractions are very rough. I wouldnt do it unless medically necessary.

37 yrs old here. I have not been offered an induction, I think it’s mostly because my children tend to want to come out ahead of time 😅 
I’m 38 weeks now and already 1cm dilated. I think unless I’m high risk, or if baby starts showing signs of distress, they won’t offer it to me.

I had my first baby at 35. At 40 weeks, my doctor offered a membrane sweep, which I declined. She said that was fine, but we’d have to talk more seriously about it if I reached 41 weeks. I went into labor at 40+4. There was never any talk of an induction. I was 37 when I had my second. I had to be induced at 39+1 due to polyhydramnios, which was identified the day before. There was no discussion of induction before that. My induction went very smoothly, but I’d still always prefer to let my babies come when they’re ready unless there’s a medical need for induction.
