Fussy while breastfeeding?

I noticed my baby sometimes can be fussy/start to cry while nursing…I can’t figure out the reason why but have to stop the feeding…
I am worried that he is not eating enough because of this. But he has roughly 10 wet diapers a day…
Anyone else experienced this before?

Trust the dipes. It’s probably not a volume issue if babe is maintaining a good wet diaper count. 
Is babe squirmy? Lots of leg movements? Could be gassiness. 
Is it always at the same time during the feed? Any choking or gagging? Could be a quick letdown. 
Is babe arching their back, spitting up a lot or vomiting? Could be reflux.

You’ve gotten some great advice already! I’m going to just add this. I saw a chiropractor within the first two weeks of his life. He was born sideways so I knew there were likely some little adjustments that needed to be made. As soon as that happened, I saw an immediate difference! He used to not latch if laying on one side and that completely stopped. My chiropractor is specifically trained to work with infants and we still see him regularly and every single time I notice a difference in my baby’s demeanor. Also the best advice I had from my ibclc was that a ravenous baby won’t latch well and gave the patience to wait for a letdown. I would drop formula onto my body while he latched to keep him encouraged.

We’re dealing with this with our newborn. The only thing we’ve figured out is it’s either that he has gas or needs to poo. Once its was because of his wet diaper but it’s really the gas/stomach issues. We have to work him in several positions so he can pass gas or poop and then he’ll settle and eat.

Yes great advice here already, but my baby was doing this.. and come to find out, she had a lip tie. After it was corrected, it went away.
