Does an epidural make you feel defeminized? And if so, why?
This question is for women who are anti-epidural. Do you feel defeminized (female equivalent to emasculation) with an epidural because that would mean that you can't handle the pain of childbirth? I'm trying to figure out why anyone would rationally choose to endure sever pain over having it inhibited, with the same result: a healthy baby being born, since unlike breastfeeeding, there isn't significant benefit for child development.
The only statistically significant risks I read up on are an increase risk of tearing, intervention, and a delay in epidural effects wearing off. But none seem to be associated with a less healthy or intelligent or happy baby post first day development. And the risks that an epidural poses seem to be low enough to not necesssrily expect to tear or have intervention.
