Looking for advice on finishing work at 28 weeks due to Covid guidelines

Li

Government guidelines state I have to finish work at 28 weeks due to the risks of covid during pregnancy as I can only work patient facing and not away from them working as a HCA in a care home, most places pay full pay up till 40 weeks then start mat leave. My work are saying I can’t go to work after 28 weeks but trying to make me take my maternity leave, the government website recommended I’m off suspended on full pay until mat leave. Has anyone been in a similar situation?

I work in a private care home, the nhs just let you go full pay at 28 weeks if you can’t work from home or in an office.

So I can’t go to work but they want me to take my mat leave early, what are my rights, who can I speak to?

Obviously I don’t want to start my maternity leave till my due date!
