How would you take this message

I meet this guy a single father raising 3kids im basically in same situation i messaged him we messaged a little bit weeks went buy i messaged again we decided to hang out as group told me bring my kids i was reluctant first time hanging out he hugged me when i get there his kids where upset i did not bring my kids adults hung out chatting few beers 5 hours i go to leave he offers to bring me to my car which just down the parking lot he ask about maybe going out the coming weekend i dont really drink deff not drink and drive he already knew that and was like respect that cause its one thing he wont do im like i dont really go out much hes like its cool we can go as group i get a designated driver i leave did not hear from him got busy message that week like lol i made it home if you wondered left un read, now its been like a month so its been bugging me like did i do or say something not his type but why offer to go out the following weekend anyways this is the reply i cant get if he trying to be nice ? How the heck would anyone see this ? I replied back basically yes i meet like him but was looking for nothing more then friend at this time kids where biggest priority and then nothing
