How much would you pay for a nanny?

I came across this job post online not because I was interested but because of the pay they were asking for 6 kids, housekeeping. I know I've seen posts on here about asking how much should you charge a babysitter/ nanny and this doesn't seem close. Not to mention we live in a rich tourist town and people here can be pretty stingy when it comes to money but I don't think this is enough it days 35k a year but the hourly still seems a bit low. I even searched google because I used to baby sit a lot in my younger days and made pretty decent money but is this even a liviable wage?

Maybe I’m the odd one out, but I think the  $30+ an hour like the other comments  suggests is absurd lol. LIGHT housekeeping could be just wiping down and dishes. 6 kids yes but 3 are in school full time. And sometimes in cases like this the mom is home too and just needs an extra hand. I absolutely think she should pay higher than that... at least $17-$18 an hour, but you have to find out exactly what your day to day will look like.

6 kids and housekeeping? I’d be charging MINIMUM $32 and hour. $18 baseline, plus $2 for each extra kid so $28 plus $2 for being CPR certified so $30 plus $2 for housekeeping $32. 
More if was expected to cook, drive, host play dates, etc. 
I would never work for a parent who values their children’s safety so little 😬

I think it would have to do somewhat what hours they were asking for? They have 3 kids at school all day, and 1 gone part of the day, so depending on how late they are expecting you to stay, you’d only have 2-3 kids during the day, and while no I don’t think 35k is “livable” I think it would make a huge difference to maybe a young college aged person or as a second income

I mean, that’s just slightly less than a teachers first year salary. Prices are always negotiable though, maybe they’re starting low in anticipation of the negotiations.
