Is anyone in school for nursing or enrolled in a nursing program?

Hey guys, i’m currently and actively searching for the best nursing program for myself, but I want to hear from other people who’ve been enrolled or are enrolled about how it works, how you liked it, the curriculum. Also, if anyone knows about any online nursing programs or schools that are affordable? I live in Arizona, but I plan on moving in about two months to either Texas or California? Should I consider that while I’m enrolling? I know if you start school in one state, and move, the credits sometimes won’t count. I don’t know much about how this works, hopefully someone who does, can give me some insight? I have lots of questions lol!! :)

I went to SCC and NAU as part of the CEP program in AZ (gets your associates and bachelors in nursing at the same time). I very much enjoyed it, the work was hard but manageable. Most hospitals in AZ require you to already have your bachelors or to be enrolled into a BSN program upon higher so you’ll want to check that out if you move. You are correct in that credits don’t always transfer from school to school; however I believe AZ still has a pretty long waiting list to get in (something to look into in other states as well).

I wouldn’t look at online nursing schools unless a physical school near you has their classes online. Nursing has a lot of in class work. Aside from the pandemic I don’t think it’s possible to really train as a nurse online. I’m in my first semester now and it’s rough but I know it’s going to be so worth it. This is just my schedule, every school is different. I go to class mondays and Wednesday’s. On mondays from 8-3 and wednesdays from 8-1230. I take A&P II on thursdays from 1-4 and on tuesdays I have to do my skills lab (catheters, IV, med admin, etc.) and it just depends what I’m doing that day to how long it takes. I started doing clinicals the middle of semesters on mondays and those are 12 hours long plus clinical assignments that you must complete at home. If you don’t have any prereqs done you could do those first then apply to nursing so you can just focus on nursing or you could do them as coreqs and take them while in nursing. But it’s a lot of work and dedication. They say for every hour in class you need to study for 2 hours at home. I quit my job so I could focus on school and I have a 7 year old but a lot of the people I go to school with have kids, jobs, and drive from 2 hours away to get to campus. 
My best advice is to look into community colleges first. The community college in my home town has one of the best nursing programs around and it’s super hard to get into. I go a town over to a technical college and I love it. If you use Reddit you can go to r/studentnurse and read about school on there!
