Celebration drink- advice?

Our daughter is 2 weeks old, I am breastfeeding currently every 2 hours. My husband and I were gifted a bottle of champagne to celebrate the birth of our daughter. We would like to pop the bottle soon but I dont know if I should yet. My husband wants me to pump and dump but I havent started pumping yet, I wouldnt know what to feed our daughter after I had something to drink. I would like to wait on giving her a bottle this soon since she is just getting used to the breast. I feel like it wouldnt go well giving her a bottle and/or she would get confused and/or refuse feeding from me directly.
How long will the alcohol stay in my system?
When should I give her the breast after drinking?
What should I do about her feeding, when it comes to time?

You can drink the champagne. You don’t need to do anything differently, you’ll be absolutely fine to BF

Literally no reason to pump and dump. You can drink while breastfeeding. My parents brought wine to the hospital when I had my first haha. As long as you can find your baby and care for your baby, you can breastfeed.

As long as you are safe enough to hold baby then she is safe enough to breastfeed from you. There’s no need to pump and dump. It usually takes an hour a drink for alcohol to be in the system (5oz). So I would just take it slow and sip on it. They also make alcohol strips you can test your milk with to see if it’s okay or not if your still worried.

You can drink and breeastfeed. Just make sure you only have 1 glass. No more. Having one glass/drink won't harm you or baby 😊

Agree with all these ladies! Also never pump and dump! Even if one day you get absolutely hammered, pump and save the milk for when baby has skin rashes or something thats topical.
