How do I find out what the other parent filed for? For custody?

So I’m trying to help a friend of mine out. He got filed custody papers at the beginning of the year for his now 1 year old. At the time he didn’t respond & he’s regretted it very much since, but his child’s mother got everything she filed for. She’s only been allowing him to have short supervised visits & her whole family is there (she lives with her mother) & they pretty much scrutinize him the whole time. Anyways he just wants to be able to take him for a couple hours at a time un supervised, a couple times a week AT LEAST. The baby’s over a year old.

So if there’s any advice on how to approach this from here?

He would like to file for a new custody schedule? So he can at least see him a couple times a week unsupervised.

But also he’d like to find out how to see what exactly she filed for? Does anyone know if he should call the court house? Or how he would figure this out? He no longer has the papers he was served.
