Why did you wean your baby?

My son is 20 months. I'm due any day with my 2nd. He's not totally ready to wean but I hate nursing him. His teeth are like daggers. I had dried up for a few weeks but I'm back to producing colostrum.

We use nursing for some bedtimes/naps, especially if I'm tired & I want him to go down quick. Otherwise he doesn't nurse. He sometimes paws at me but I just ignore it & he let's me alone. I also nursed him a lot when he got 4 premolars in at once. He was so miserable & it was the only thing that comforted him.

I used to love nursing him but the teeth are unbearable, especially the latch. I don't know if it's using different cups but it only got worse and worse after 14 months.
