Got mad at me that I posted on Instagram?

I’ve been dating this guy for 6 months. It was off to a rocky start but we got through it then a bunch of other things came up now and he wanted to end it. He said he was confused and needed time and space and I kinda failed at that for a few days. A few days ago he said he can’t see me in his future, but also who knows what the future holds. I suggested we should plan a date to meet up and he said 2 months from that day.

Anywhoooooo, we both had each other’s insta still and last night he logged me out. Then I noticed he started following a girl I unfollowed a while ago bc he was talking to her when we were talking. I posted a story shortly after of my friends dog bc I was ft her. I got a text from him in the morning saying that he was going to unfollow me off insta bc he saw I posted a story. He said he didn’t open it but it triggered him bc he thinks that I’m posting selfie’s and what not and he doesn’t want to see that. We talked and I told him I’m not doing that and he doesn’t have to unfollow me. I asked him about the girl and he said she’s a long time friend and that she has a bf. He said told me like 3-4 times he’s not talking to her or anyone and that there’s nothing there. He even sent me a screenshot of his dms. He started to get annoyed bc he said I wasn’t trusting him and this was one of the reasons he wanted to leave me and basically said trust him. He told me he needs to see me change if I want to meet him in 2 months. And he said to just give him the space he needs rn and who knows what’ll happen. I asked if he still loved me and he said yes. My questions for you ladies…why is he freaking out that I posted a story on Instagram? Do you think he’ll come running back sooner than 2 months? How do I show him I’ve changed and am working on myself when we’re giving each other space? Also, what makes men come back???
