Vaginal or C Section?

I delivered my first born 8 weeks ago and was only this week cleared to have sex/start exercising slowly etc. I was induced at 38 weeks and had a 3rd degree tear and an episiotomy with a 5 pound 11 ounce baby also using forceps. My OB said I’ve healed well but I really went through it. I joked saying that my fiancé and I thought of only having one baby since my recovery was so awful even though I’ve always wanted more. She said she would offer me a c section based on how rough my delivery was. She even said compared to what I went through a c section recovery would be easier. 
Moms that have delivered both ways - what was your experience with both? Recovery of c section over a rough vaginal delivery?

Vaginal all the way. 
I had my baby early. She was 4lbs 11oz and I had an episiotomy as she was stuck at the vaginal opening. I was cleared for sex/exercise at 6 weeks. Wasn’t comfortable until closer to 8 weeks. Most women are cleared between 6-8 weeks.
I wouldn’t choose major surgery. It takes longer to heal the incision and the same amount of time to heal the wound from the placenta. You have more restrictions and limitations following a C-section than a vaginal delivery. For instance, you can drive a car after a week with a vaginal but you have to wait 2-3 weeks after a C-section.

Vaginal all the way. A csection is a MAJOR abdominal surgery and a lot longer recovery time. You would still be cleared for everything at the same time you did for the vaginal birth you just had. 
No way in heck would I choose a csection over vaginal.

I have never had a c section, but was induced with my first. It was a horrible experience. Horrible. I did not have a tear or anything like that, but baby was distressed and it was just kind of a scary situation and I'm actually shocked looking back it didn't end in an emergency c section. That said, my other labors (not induced) were 100% different. They were much better. If your body isn't ready to have baby, then an induction really can be traumatic I think, especially with a first baby. My recoveries for my vagainal non induced births were amazing. I had no tearing, wasnt really all that sore even and didn't bleed for too long and felt overall really good after labor/delivery . I don't think that I would choose a c section delivery based on a bad first time induction experience, but everyone and every body is different. Also, every pregnancy and every delivery is different. Just because this first vaginal delivery was rough does not mean they all will be.

C section 🤷🏻‍♀️ I know that’s the unpopular opinion but I honestly think the recovery is easier compared to a rough vaginal birth. I had no stitches in my vagina, no pain with urination, no painful sex, and only bled for 3 weeks. Everyone says it’s major abdominal surgery and it is but I was out of bed and walking the hall, taking a shower and in my own clothes after 24 hours. I only ever needed Motrin for pain even though they prescribed me oxycodone. My scar literally looks like a scratch.

Im a csection only mom and my recoveries were VERY simple. I have almost no pain right after and recover within 2 weeks. 
Thats being said, since evolve given vaginal birth, it should be the same 2nd time around. If you are struggling during labor, request a csection.

Im the same as you,third degree tearing and a horrible time healing, took me months to be able to have sex, which still hurt like hell. I would have gotten a c section if i knew recovery was going to be this hard! I think i would choose a c sec if i had another baby.

I can only have scheduled c sections (uterine surgery last year) and I was terrified going for my first (4.5 weeks ago). I gotta say, i was petrified going into the surgery, but it was NOTHING! I was a little loopy during it and said out loud that I can’t believe I was afraid of that. However, the recovery is no joke. I’ve had a similar surgery before so I knew it wouldn’t be a walk in the park. You just need help for the first 2 ish weeks (cooking, cleaning, any lifting). I was fine carrying the baby around and I was also up and walking less than 24 hours after the surgery. Now looking back, the worst part was the catheter. I was worried about the scar too but mine looks great - I think once I’m fully healed it will be nearly invisible. 
I’ve heard people say that you can either have the pain during the delivery or during the recovery - neither are ideal, but you’ll survive either one.

I had a emergency c - section for me the recovery was terrible i had a lot of pain in the beginning but after like 2 weeks I was fine the only thing now is I hate the scar & I still don’t have complete feeling back around my scar

Ive had both.  First emergency C-section. What a horrrrrible experience. Tried and had a successful vbac. Im hoping this one is vaginal too.  Such a quick recovery!
