I need real responses please. Were grown adults, but i just want to go about this the right way and need advice. Hes not a bad person at all. He is a nice guy. But i dont know what to say. Deep down i do miss him and want to cuddle, but dont want to seem easy needy or desperate.  How do i respond to “i want to cuddle you” over text???

You reply no thanks. You aren't a booty call or second prize. If you think its just a cuddle then you're being naive even if you are grown adults. 
He didn't message that he misses you, or that he made a mistake  or that you're the love of his life and he wants to make things right. He's said he wants a cuddle, tell him to get himself a Teddy bear.

He didn’t say he misses you, didn’t say he wants to work on the reasons why you broke up - he just misses a physical sensation. He’s an ex for a reason, and nothing about this says he shouldn’t stay that way.

But he is an ex. What was the reason you all broke up in the first place? Think about that and ask yourself if you want to go down that road again? Also, would this be a road that leads to something more serious, or is it really just a friends with benefits situation waiting to happen? Would you be okay with either outcome?
My advice? Don't bother responding. You do not owe him a response just because he sent you a message.
