Christmas opinions

Ok yes I know its early to start discussing this but really it's just still on my mind from last year. So each year my parents spend a fortune on us and our children for Christmas and dont get me wrong at all we absolutely appreciate it. But the thing is is we always feel so bad because we just cant afford much to give them. We are a 1 income household and my husbands side of the family is quite large for us to purchase for.

My parents basically only buy for us and our kids and my sister that is it. My husband has 6 siblings some married with children and father mother and step father and 2 living grandmothers as well that we have to buy for so we just cant afford it.

I feel like its rude to ask them to spend less on us but I also feel terrible that they spend so much on us too. Any advice would be appreciated greatly
