Should I say something to the COO of the company I work for about personal space limits?
I work for a company in a smaller office. Recently the owner has renovated to give all of us our own offices. Before I shared a room with 3 other girls and now we all have our own spaces. The spaces are a bit small (6x7) but I enjoy the privacy.
We have a new COO for the company and he always stands way too close for comfort. I believe he is in his 50s and married and quite tall.
When I shared a room I hated that he invaded personal space but I could deal with it. Now that I have a smaller space of my own he will knock, walk in and close the door behind him.
I don’t believe he means any harm by it but it’s just very uncomfortable to me. Especially when 95% of the things he is asking about is never serious enough to come fully into my space.
I am a 35 year old female and idk if I’m over reacting or if it is valid for me to be feeling uncomfortable.
Anyone have any advice on what I should do or how I should handle the situation?
