Toddler sleep for travel

Michelle

Hi friends! I’ll be taking my kiddos to visit my parents In a few weeks. I’ve “sleep trained” my toddler (I use that term loosely) so that she can now go to sleep on her own (knock on wood) BUT she’s still in a crib. There is no crib available at my parents house, and with her being so big, and the limited number of times we visit, I don’t really want to buy one to have there. She was sleeping in a pack n play there-but has outgrown it. She loves to sleep with me, and usually ends up in our bed at some point in the night anywayso I think I will just let her sleep with me there. However, I’m worried that once the crib walls are removed, and she can get up and freely roam around-she will never actually go to sleep in the first place. She goes to bed at about 7:30, and I’d like to be able to put her to bed, hang out with my parents some, and then go to bed with her later. But how do I get her to actually lay down and go to sleep in this different environment? Maybe lay with her until she falls asleep and then sneak out? Or would that ruin all her progress with sleep?

Ughhh. I’m sure I’m over thinking this. Just wanted to bounce it off someone.
