What do you prefer?

I've had my daughters quite close together (20 months). It can be very challenging a lot of the time. 
They have an older brother from their dad who is 7 and 9 years older than the girls. He doesn't really have anything to do with them even though he lives with us. 
We know we want 1 more and plan to start trying next summer meaning our kids will be 4 and 2.5 when the baby is born 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼.
What do other people prefer? Bigger age gaps between kids or smaller age gaps and just get all the sleepless nights, nappies and feeds all out the way?

My girls are 17 months apart. Baby number 3 will be 3.5 years and exactly 2 years from my girls. I prefer them close in age. I’d rather get all the diapers and sleepless nights over with 🤣

It’s hard to say for me because they both have challenges. I have four kids soon to be 5. They are 14,8,7,1 and one due in June

I think having them closer together is harder when they are younger (as you have 2 that are pretty dependent on you for their self care needs) but easier when they are older as they can play with and entertain each other, you can do family outings to places both will enjoy rather than it being too advanced for one or too babyish for the other.

My son is 4 years older than my daughter and he absolutely adores her. Although having them further apart has allowed my son to become more independent, we haven't experienced any of the jealousy that most siblings closer in age experience.

I always wanted mine close together.  I think it could be easier with a little gap in between, but I guess I was willing to push thru whatever so I could have them closer.  But I think it would be fun to have an older-ish child when I brought a newborn home too!  Basically anything you do/have will become your new normal and it’ll be awesome!

Ours will be about 21 months apart and I’m really looking forward to that dynamic. Obviously the beginning will be particularly difficult, but my sister and I are 18 months apart and we had a wonderful childhood together and are best friends, and I really wish that for my kids too.
