In Regards to relationships, do you think men lie more than woman do? Read details

I’ve been on this app for a few years now, and it’s still astonishing to me seeing all of the relationship posts about men lying, cheating, and gaslighting their wives. Unfortunately it seems to be a universal experience that most women encounter at least once in their relationships. 
I know that this app is predominantly women, so I’m not sure what men vent about in a male dominated community. But I personally think women probably have more stories about Lion cheating spouses than men do. 
This is not at all saying that women don’t lie or cheat, of course they do, any gender is capable of that. But I’m talking more of a “big picture” do you think men lie and cheat more than women do?
Also: I’m aware that not every man and not every woman behaves this way. There are definitely genuine, truthful and loving men and women out there. But the reality is a lot of people lie and cheat, so out of those people, who do you think does it more?

I think men may lie more because of societal expectations and the way they are raised. I don’t think there’s anything genetic or related to males specifically. Men are always encouraged to suppress emotion and in most circles men praise one another for how many women they sleep with. I think that contributes to some dishonesty and manipulation.

Women are just as shitty as men. I’ve been in relationships with both men and women — I’ve been abused, lied to, cheated on, by both. People can just be shitty. Like really shitty.

People are a-holes. Gender has nothing to do with it. Men just don't complain as openly about it, so it seems more one sided.

I think society says it more expected for a man to lie and cheat so they do… while women are way more discreet and better at it to be honest. The amount of men caught cheating from simple text and phone calls and social media is crazy… u would think they be smarter at it by now

Yes I believe men are more likely than women to lie and/or cheat.
There’s some decent evidence regarding cheating, but it’s hard to really know because one could argue men are just more honest in the studies than women … but … if you look at gender differences in fraud charges (imo a form of lying) and gender differences in cheating on exams (a form of cheating) men are much more likely to engage in these activities.

I really don't think men lie more, misbehave more, cheat more, etc. All these men who cheat are not cheating with the same woman, after all. Women also have their own unique ways of being awful in relationships, quite often using the kids as tools to inflict pain.l. Neither men nor women have the corner on the market of being horrible. Awful people are awful, full stop. I could tell you stories that would make your hair stand on end about what my husband went through with his ex and he's not the only one out there. On top of what she did to him as a wife, she also used the kids against him until the court saw what an enormous liar and abusive person she was to both him and the children. 
However, I have learned that in our current society, men really aren't afforded the same platform to talk about the abuse they suffer at the hands of the women in their lives as women get. In my husband's extended family alone, abusive women abound. It's eye-opening, that's for sure. So no, I don't think men are "worse." Men and women can both be terrible.
