What would you do?

If you bring your 3 yr old son to an indoor playground... and from a distance... you saw couple kids took away the toy your son is holding.. i am full outrage and my heart dropped to see my son just gave it up for them because he doesnt really know how wrong these kids are..... but i just walked away and remove my son from the situation...

Is it your toy or the playground’s? If it’s yours, I’m absolutely getting it back. If it’s from the playground, we talk about being kind to others and that they were not and move on to something else.

I always follow my kid around these play areas not too close though so she can have her space. If kids get near her I come closer as well to see what they’re doing. Then I can quickly stop them from snatching toys or hitting her or whatever. She’s just like your kid where she will let others take her toys but will then run up to me crying about it.

I tell my kids not to worry about the mean kids and we go do something else.

Kids learn from us and their parents. It’s best to just walk away and not escalate a situation. It sucks and is crap when other kids have to act that way, but nine times out of ten intervening and speaking your mind isn’t going to do anything and accomplish anything.

Like someone else said. I Iike to stay close
 A) to make sure other kids know I'm watching them and they shouldn't try anything. 
And B) if a kid does try something, this is the opportunity to teach my child how to stick up for themselves and NOT LET it happen.

If it is a toy I brought, then I model for all the kids how to politely ask for a toy back. 
Then I’d tell the other kids that if they should ask nicely. Then model how to do that and have my child practice sharing. 
If it’s not my toy then I’d redirect my kid to something else and make sure I’m close by. Then if the kids come back, I can step in and model for them how to ask for a toy. If they ask nicely and my child says no. Then I’ll say “he said no, so that means you’ll have to find something else until he’s done. 
All these moments are moments to get pissed or moments to model and teach the appropriate behavior. You get to chose.

If it’s my toy I’d go get it back. If it belongs there let it go. But when my oldest son was younger we definitely talked about being confident and assertive. Assertive doesn’t have to be mean, but it means standing up for yourself in an appropriate way. Once he was standing at the top of the slide waiting for a kid to get off the bottom before he could go. Other kids kept cutting in front of him and going down into each other. I watched him just keep waiting his turn which never came. I stepped in eventually but later told him how it’s okay to politely say “I’m next” as someone cuts in front, or say “please get off the slide now” when someone reaches the bottom and chooses to remain there forever. We teach our kids to be nice but unfortunately others will take advantage of that so they need to know how to assert themselves so they don’t miss out on their own experiences or get walked all over.

If they snatched it out of your sons hands I would be upset. But who’s toy was it?? Now if it was your sons toy I would of told the kids to be nice and not snatch toys that are not there’s .
