“At least you can get pregnant”

Tamela • Wife•Mother of 2•our journey

The goal isn't to get pregnant, it's to have living children, and knowing that you can get pregnant is not a guarantee that you can produce living children. For many of us, it's proof that pregnancy is never safe for us. The two lines are not an achievement anymore.

The idea that "at least you know you can get pregnant" is something people who have had MCs hear a lot, and it's not usually something they like to hear. It's at its root an idea meant to try to soften the pain, and often feels like a denial of the absolute horror. I know it feels like it would be helpful, but it usually is not. In the future, it's advised to avoid "at least..." statements really to anyone grieving anything. ❤️
