What's propanolol and is it good for headaches?

I've been described it by the GP but never heard of it before. Anyone know about this medication? Does it make you sleepy, can I drive?

It's a beta blocker. When you picked up your prescription it should have a pamphlet that explains the medication to you. Or you could just do a simple Google search and do your own research on the actual medical side effects of it that have been written down.

Its for migraines/blood pressure. I was on it years ago. I would suggest taking one on your day off or at home after work to test it out. It can cause tiredness and dizziness. Everyone body is different on how they react so it would be smart to test at home to see how it make you feel before taking them before getting behind a wheel. It didn't cause me any drowsiness but maybe I had a lower dosage or maybe because they had me on stronger meds before that and my body was tolerant. 
Im a coffee addict. I can drink coffee right before bed and still get a goodnight sleep.I have friends who drink a half a cup and start shaking all day. Just for reference lol*

I was on propranolol for hypertension in high school. Low dose in the morning and low dose at night. It was making me sleepy in class so they switched it to one consolidated dose at night. Why would your GP put you on it and not tell you what it is or why they have you taking it? The pharmacist didn't explain the usual "have you taken this medication before?" Speech when you went to pick it up?
