Birth Control & Periods

Hi all,

I recently started birth control, i’ve been lucky as i havent had any side effects but I started my pack around when i finished ovulation. I waited the 7 days & have not sued protection since, i check my ovulation as well just in case. My question is is it normal to miss my “old” period before i got on birth control? i’ve had cramps around when it’d start normally but have not had it & assumed it was because of the BC, also i took a pregnancy test a week ago & it was negative
