What questions you ask when enrolling elementary?

We have to go off a zoning. So basically meaning whatever area we live in we have set schools our children attend. So I basically did all my research before we moved to a certain area so I know if it's a good set of schools or not. You definitely want to know the school board and their beliefs because they outline everything basically. 
Things you want to or should know is what curriculum they follow. 
How do they communicate with parents when it comes to emergencies and how fast to expect a notification of anything. 
What does the daily schedule
