Should Support Groups Host Debates?

I’ve noticed RvW posts are being moved from CC. Some to Politics, some to support groups. The former is annoying, but whatever. The latter deeply bothers me. Vile comments shaming abortions are not removed first. So, should abortion support groups remain safe spaces, or should they host debates?

Support groups are not the place for debate, no matter how you feel on a topic. That’s not it. Debate should be held in debate rooms, such as CC. I would very much like to see topics stay here where they belong.

I’d like to take the opportunity to post a little CC history here. Abortion debate in CC was NEVER totally banned. After the rule went into place there was a single post crest by admin for us to comment on. The problem is the algorithm was different back then. Commenting on it used to bring it to the top of the group, and that no longer happens. It’s become inaccessible, which is why I am advocating for a pinned post at this point.

I don’t understand why we can’t discuss this at the political level in CC. If rude comments are made I feel they should be removed, but not the whole topic.

Also, we should also note how there is a pro life room and you are not allowed to debate pro choice there but pro choice support you're allowed to debate abortion and i've witnessed pro life arguments stay up. And the only rooms left are abortion support which aren't really for debate but for women looking for advice on their abortion. CC should just allow abortion debates at this point and just monitor better. Or make a pinned post at minimum. More often than none it's not people arguing pro choice that are making the vile comments. Just saying. It's always the other side calling women baby killers etc and slut shaming.

Before I say anything I'm not against it or for it. 
 Alot of this abortion topics should be properly addressed and not emotionally. Which is how they have been. Why should post of people against abortion should be blocked or deleted as to those who are for it that's unfair.  Both sides as long as their respectful should be allowed not Just because they don't agree with you they should be silenced.  Almost all the post on here about being over turned are from people who are emotionally triggered and they tend to harass those who are speaking their truth against it which there's nothing wrong with it. In the end if both parties could properly communicate they would be able so actually come up with a solution which benefits both sides. 🤔  Both sides actually have very good points  if you truly look at it with an open mind and no judgment whatsoever ever.

It absolutely doesn’t and i think it’s harmful and irresponsible for admin to do that. 
In this group many come looking to debate and expect it. The last thing someone needs is to go to a group looking for people to identify and confide with and see someone arguing that they’re immoral.

The problem is it never stays civil. If we can’t discuss abortion in CC, then we shouldn’t be able to discuss politics and religion either and that doesn’t make sense because those topics are very controversial. 
I don’t think any sort of debate should happen in support groups, regarding any topic. That’s strictly for support and kind words.
