Anyone else feel like nobody has babies naturally now??

I feel like I never hear of anyone having a baby naturally anymore...overwhelmingly ppl are having c sections and a few get epidurals and still have baby vaginally. 
For something so natural, it feels like it’s being hijacked by modern medicine....

It's  definitely not common place any more. I got a lot of negative reactions when I said I was having a natural birth at a birth center and would consider a home birth for the next one.  I don't get it. Birth is a natural thing that women have been doing unassisted for generations. Yes I am thankful for medical  advances and wouldn't be alive today if they weren't available  at birth but I don't understand why it seems like everyone need medical intervention to give birth.

Yeah. When I told people I was going to have my baby naturally they looked at me like I had three heads. Some tried to talk me out of it. And then others said how it was this otherly worldly power I clearly had to have been able to do so. 
Like giving birth naturally and unmedicated is completely normal and what the female body was ment to do. It amazing but also what the body was ment to do lol 
I blame doctors honestly. How much money to they and hospitals make by pushing tons of interventions

I work in a department for pregnant service members and most of them don't know they have options. They feel delivering a baby is terrifying and "need" all the interventions they can get. It's really heartbreaking.

It's definitely a minority. A nurse on shift when I delivered my second had never even seen an unmedicated physiological birth before

I feel like there’s a split but not an even one. I definitely feel like I hear more about home births now than I did with my first 6 years ago, but that may be because I’m part of the home birth community now. The US has drastically higher rates of medical intervention for birth. And I also see a lot of misinformation regarding the risks of medication, epidurals and csection that women electively are choosing because they are not always given full informed consent. But I also find It rare to have a natural birth in the US inside of a hospital. And homebirths aren’t covered by regular insurance. I didn’t even know homebirth was a thing 6 years ago until I was like 36 weeks pregnant and instantly felt like I was making a mistake staying with an ob

I feel like it’s becoming a little more popular again. In Brazil, where I come from, c-section is the way to go. But more people are opting for natural birth now, they don’t even offer epidurals in most hospitals there.

First of all...how weird we have the same name!! I just have 2 Ts😁😁😁 But second , please enlighten me on this whole " women can't chose what happens with our bodies " thing. I am so scared to get a C-section. They convinced my mom back in the day...that once she had her first c section that was the only way she could give birth to the rest of her children 😳😳😳 Like basically saying her Vagina was never going to be strong enough to handle natural child birth. Like who even says that...how would they know that???

I feel like I'm hearing people on Glow talking about unmedicated births more than I used to but in real life, I'm the only mom out of all my friends with kids that had vaginal births and no one I know besides my mom has done it unmedicated like I did.
