Is it normal for my 2 year olds foreskin to have a smell?

I noticed the tip was a tiny bit red and I pulled back the skin a little and I noticed it smelled. The head of his penis doesn't come out yet. I'm not sure if this is normal or not on uncircumcised toddler penis.

You're not supposed to retract the skin. Clean it like a finger and leave it alone.

My toddlers are not circumcised. Although they have gotten smegma buildup I have never ever noticed a smell before. I would contact his pediatrician.

So one day my husband was cleaning my son, and he noticed a bump under the skin of his penis. The next day my husband woke up with him and changed him to get him ready for his pediatrician appointment. Well, my husband noticed green pus coming out. He asked the pediatrician about it, and he had about 5 pus pockets she had to pop. He had an infection. We were advised by his regular pediatrician not to pull back the skin. That day my son saw a different pediatrician and told us we were supposed to be pulling the skin back to clean it. We had no idea and felt terrible. That was when he was about 18 months old. He’s 21 months and doing fine. He’s also gotten used to is pulling back his foreskin.

You're not supposed to pull back the foreskin. Is this the first time you or your husband have pulled the foreskin back? If not, he may have an infection from the skin being ripped from the head. 
I have 3 in tact boys. One of them (my youngest) is prone to getting chafing on the underside of his penis and top of his balls. And it has definitely given off a slight odor first thing in the morning before he's been wiped when he's chafing badly. But his foreskin or the tip of his penis have never been red. And it's only smelled when he's chafed real bad and I didn't notice the night before to put triple paste or cornstarch on it.

I don’t get this on my uncircumcised son? I only know friends and family with circumcised boys so I can’t really offer much information  honey sorry
