Pregnant & lost job… Maternity leave time?

So I worked at a preschool this past 2021-2022 year and this week is my last week of work basically. It restarts mid-august but i’m due the first week of September so I didn’t see a reason to go back just to leave soon but now idk what to do?? I have about 5 weeks until I have the baby. Everyone keeps telling me to go on maternity leave but it feels too soon? Idk if i even qualify. I was looking for an at home job but I feel like by the time I get trained I’ll already be having the baby. And I was also thinking babysitting gigs but I also have my daughter with me so idk if Id be able to find anything. Has anyone been in a situation like this? What did you do?
