Is it inappropriate to give a little gift to my midwife?

So I had the most amazing midwife for two of my pregnancies and I am due soon. I was thinking if it is ok and not any weird to buy for my midwife a little mug for the best midwife...as a thank you for everything. What do you guys think??

My mother is a midwife and she’s received a bunch of gifts from her mamas. A lot of the times it’s food, sometimes a gift card, and sometimes it’s a lil decorative piece for her office. She loves them all and always comes home with a big ol smile to tell us how happy she is that her mamas feel so comfortable with her. It’s a badge of honor for them and I’m sure yours would love it too 💕

Both times I gave my hospital midwife a gift card in a thank you card but I've not given anything to my community midwife as both times I've gone earlier than I expected so didn't get the chance. I think it is a lovely gesture and it would make her day!

I think that would be really lovely, I don’t think midwives etc seem to get much appreciation so it would be a lovely gesture. I sent my hospital midwife unit a good bag of things like biscuits after I gave birth to my first for the ward as they were so amazing. Will probably do the same this time too. Can’t really say that for my specific midwife as I’ve only seen her twice and I’m 34 weeks

I do not think so, and I'm sure any sort of gift is a nice gesture which will make their day. I saw a post on here a while back, someone also from England asking the same question, and suggestions on what to get. I think I suggested making a small little hamper, like tea, biscuits, chocolate, to go with the mug she was also thinking to get. I just imagine them all hanging out like on one born every minute, and can share the chocolates etc.
