Should my husband tell me what I can or cannot do

The context matters here.

I have tattoos and I have always wanted a piercing. My husband and I did get our anniversary tattooed on both of us. This is relevant because he isn’t opposed to tattoos - we both have tattoos.

I would like a piercing. Either a nose stud piercing or an eyebrow piercing. He is so against it. Like angry and against it.

He told me no and how I’m ruining my body and it’s not attractive and aggressively questioned why I wanted a piercing . I don’t have a very good answer besides the fact that I like how they look and I would like to do it.

He freaks about it - even said he wouldn’t want to be with a girl with piercings - and FYI before each other we dated other people with all sorts of things like piercings. Not that it matters who we dated.

Should I just go out and do it? I feel as though it’s too controlling how he responds to me about piercings.

Or do I be more of a submissive wife and respect his views or values? I’m a bit annoyed at the same time I don’t want to be a spiteful person and piss him off more?!
