Toddler suddenly afraid to poop?

I need HELP!
My 3.5 year old son has been potty trained for about a year now. He instantly picked it up for both poop and pee
Now a year later (he all of a sudden) will NOT poop on the potty. He will pee no problem. But he will scream and cry when he has to go poop. It has been a few days since his last good BM. I finally got him to poop (some) by give him fiber gummies but I know it’s going to be an ongoing problem. 
What can I do? I feel so bad. You can tell he’s constipated and in pain and his belly is big/hard. Any advice anyone?

He likely had one that hurt to get out and that made him scared to go. Especially if he’s constipated try to make it easier to get out, apple juice or prune juice or whatever is needed to get him easy poops to get out to get over this period of struggle

Try giving him some prune juice every day mixed in with something. My friend mixes it with hot chocolate, but they're very into sweets. You could try something healthier possibly out whatever he's into. Yogurt will help too, maybe chobani or something like that.
