Am I overreacting? What would you do?
My 7 year old came home from school with an extremely swollen/bleeding top lip and scratches/marks on her forehead and her front tooth/gums was bleeding. She told her daddy that she fell from the monkey bars and hit her face on the ground. She said she started crying and they brought her inside gave her water and that’s it. I work as security so I can’t have my phone on me but when I took break he told me this and I got furious because the school did not call me at all. When I saw my daughter she looked bad like she got into a fight. Are schools supposed to tell you when your child gets hurt bad or what because this is not ok.

They are mostly definitely supposed to call you! I would be raising hell! My son fell at school and the nurse messaged me through an app we use and his wasn't even as bad as your daughter.

This is crazy, first they only gave her water, no icepack or antiseptic or bandages... WTH I'd be a mama bear on a rampage.

In the UK they only call if it can't be easily dealt with at school and they feel that the child can't continue with their learning for the day.

They are supposed to call. When I was in the 5th grade someone hit me with a marker in the eye and they called my mother. I sliced my thumb open in the 8th grade and they called my mother. So if I were you I’d be taking pictures and raising hell over at that school

They absolutely should’ve contacted you! I would definitely follow up with the school as to what happened/why there was no communication to any parents.
