Expat delivering back in the US

Hey there,

I’m from the US but currently living abroad, in my first trimester. I’m planning to go home to have my baby in the third trimester. Has anyone dealt with a similar situation?

I already called one OBGYN office and they said they won’t accept me as new patient since they won’t be seeing me in person until I’m too far along. I found this ridiculous, being that I can just scan over my paperwork leading up to the move back so they can track my pregnancy. I’m thinking it might have to do with being lazy and not wanting to deal with a patient who’s currently abroad, but figured I’d get some insight if I could.
