I guess that depends on if you bought jar sauce or homemade sauce. Homemade sauce would probably have some sugar put in it. Store bought sauce already has it.

In the uk I noticed that their sauces don’t have sugar so my roommates would often add a little. In the us there’s no need because they pre add it to most brand jars of sauce

My stomach has a hard time with red sauce, so yes. I only add a LITTLE sugar to offset the acidity in the sauce. Any more than a few teaspoons is too much and will make it sweet

If you make homemade sauce, yes a small amount goes into it to cut the acidity of the tomatoes. It does not go in the noodles and if you're using Prego or another pre-made sauce, then no. Absolutely not.
