No drinking at Thanksgiving
With both my family and my husband family having issues and such, we’ve decided to host thanksgiving at my parent’s and only invite a handful of people. My parents will be out of the country (yes I asked for permission). We only told my mil and my husbands aunt. They’re both currently having a few issues with their 2 other siblings so we decided to just invite them and maybe my SIL’s but I doubt it seeing how the last time they were in the same room went 😅 I just want to know if it’s wrong for me to say no drinking at our thanksgiving dinner. Ofc maybe a glass of wine or two but I don’t want anyone getting drunk because my daughter’s birthday party was a shitshow and I don’t want a repeat of that. Would I be wrong? Ofc I wouldn’t expect anyone to come if that’s an issue but at the same time I don’t think it should be a problem. I’m really hoping my brother won’t be home (he usually goes to his friend’s for thanksgiving) since he’s the one who usually brings out the liquor 🥲🤦🏻♀️
I just want a nice, calm thanksgiving dinner, maybe a movie for the kids, some board games for us adults or something but definitely no drinking.
