Do you like parenting?

My daughter is 4 and I love her more than anything in the world and I am grateful every day for her, but I’ll be honest…I don’t like parenting. 😢 I can’t imagine I’m alone in this so I would love to hear from others. It’s the hardest job I’ve ever had and it’s 24/7. Sometimes I feel like I don’t even know who I am anymore…life seems to revolve around my kid. That’s probably partly my doing but it’s also just because they really require so much. Again, I love my child more than anything but this is HARD, and I don’t enjoy it. There are sweet, happy moments of course but as a whole, it’s so dang hard.

I like it more as she gets older (almost 5yo now). The baby and toddler stage was cute, but so involved. I’m glad to feel like parenting is part of my identity again, not the whole thing.

I love my son, can't imagine life without him, he was 100% planned, i have a super supportive husband, and get lots of breaks. But i hate parenting. It's harder than i thought, and it doesn't feel as natural as i thought it would.

Some days I love it, other days I hate i and wish I could just not be a parent. Most days I like it just enough to think I'm doing ok raising small humans.

I make sure to take 1 day a week or 2 to myself. Drop off my kiddos or my husband takes over and I go out to the mall and just breathe. Get my broes done, get some Starbucks or whatever

I like being a parent and love my kids but having to do all of the parenting responsibilities for a baby and preschooler is exhausting. I could see how it keeps getting better as they get older and become more independent. Being needed 24/7 is tiring

I don’t hate it, but I definitely don’t love it most days. My boys are 1 and 4 and at very, very difficult stages right now… I love them so much and would absolutely fall apart if anything happened to them, but I absolutely struggle. I’d say I love about 30% of parenting right now, and struggle with it 70% of the time. I know that will change with time, and I’m just riding out the hard years right now and trying to make sure I survive with most of my sanity😂

Yeah I don't like it. With one it was easy to me but once I had my second then my first became a complete terror. I'm miserable a lot of the time my first born hits everyone in the house and no matter what I do it doesn't stop the behavior. I enjoy their bedtime, I'm guessing this stage passes but it is very overwhelming for me. I also miss getting my hair done and putting on make-up, now the shower is a privilege and I feel like I've lost myself. I love my kids so much and can't imagine life without them but yeah it's hard.

Well first of all it is super hard, especially if your a single parent. But try and take a step back and decide what you could do or work with your child on to make it more enjoyable for you. I know having a bed time routine and some discipline is very helpful so you can keep your sanity. It makes taking them out and doing things a lot easier and not dreaded every time.
The books or videos of “1-2-3 magic” has been really helpful.
