Told me he loved me before he felt it

Soooo my boyfriend and I have been together for 8 months and today we had a conversation about when we knew we loved each other. Anyways he said that he told me he loved me before he fully felt it. He said he could feel himself getting there which is why he was comfortable saying it for the first time. I was a little offended bc I would never say it unless I was positive. Is this a red flag or concerning. Or am i overthinking lol.
