birth control opinions

so there’s a guy i frequently hook up with and we both had a conversation and we wanna stop using condoms but in order to do that i wanna get on birth control. but ive never used birth control cause ive always used condoms. so anyone got any opinions on which method of birth control is the best. (ik everyone has different experiences, but i just wanna get an idea)

edit: i still planned on speaking to my gyno & our conversation included getting tested and only having sex w/ each other, i just was curious about other peoples experiences with different types of bc.
