Feeling sad for my daughter

My daughter is nine years old. At school everyone was talking about their crushes, and my daughter said she is gay and has a crush on a girl. Now her so-called friends at school are giving her a hard time. Her one friend that she trusted is going around telling everyone who her crush is and people are keeping their distance from her. Of course, at home there will never be an issue of not being accepted because I support my daughter 100%. But this part where kids are being jerks is really hard. She even asked if she could change schools. But I know there are going to be jerk kids at every school. We are both in therapy and will mention this at our next session. Just wondering if any other moms have ever been through this and how did you handle it?
