Did you regret having a smaller wedding?
Does anyone regret having a smaller, more intimate wedding? I’m clearly on the fence but leaning more towards it. My fiancé and I got engaged Dec 2019 with a plan to get married October 2021. Well, I found out I was pregnant Dec 2020 with a due date of September 2021. After getting through the 1st trimester, we decided to postpone our original 200-250 guest wedding. Due to this, we lost a lot of our $$ from deposits on our venue and vendors due to our cancellation. Fast forward to now, we are planning to get married Nov 2024 but was going to trim our guest list down to 100-150 people. But now, I’m thinking maybe we should just do something more small and intimate such as having maybe 15-20 people then instead of a reception, just go to a super nice restaurant afterwards with everyone.
I think I’m having a change of heart since we have a 1 year old and we purchased a house this year and responsible me is saying to save all that money we would spend for a wedding/reception and put it towards our projects we want to do around the house, etc. But then again, I don’t want to regret not having a big wedding/reception when that was our original plan (mind you before we had a child and a house - kinda back when we didn’t have true responsibilities 😂).
