Do you think your significant other has a say on the clothes u wear and everything? I wore these shorts I’m pregnant and I couldn’t find any that fit me but these one particular ones it’s 98 out so I put the shorts on and he’s like why u wearing that? That’s u asking for people to look at your ass. Is this right or is he being insecure?

My husband knows he doesn't have a say but I also don't wear revealing clothes in public. That's just me though.

I’m of the opinion ￼now that know your partner shouldn’t have a say in what you wear. I previously was in domestic violence and my husband would buy my clothes and dress me like a Barbie doll. He chose what I wore everything. ￼There was a significant age gap and I was treated like a trophy. ￼(which is wrong)
I now realise after leaving the very very controlled environment that this is not normal and your partner shouldn’t have a say in what you wear. There is a difference between opinion and controlling.
If something genuinely looked terrible, or wasn’t flattering I would hope that my husband would tell me. But if he’s telling me something because of his own insecurities, or because of a stupid reason, then I’m not okay with that.￼

My husband would never tell me what I can and can’t wear even if he tired he doesn’t own my body. But I would never wear anything disrespectful that would draw attention to me in that way.

I do take his opinion but I know he won’t do it in a controlling way. Same as I give him my opinion on his clothes. I do also know that if I’m wearing something that will attract the wrong type of attention, he will tell me and usually he’s right. We all say what we wear shouldn’t matter but it does affect the way people perceive you and even treat you. That’s why we don’t go to job interviews in night club attire. So yes if I’m wearing something that will have men lusting over me, I’d want him to let me know. That’s not the type of attention I want. But if I’m wearing it at home, it’s fair game because it can lead to some adult fun time 😉.
