My mom always wants me to go over her house but won’t come over mine?

My mom asks me every few days if I want to go over her house for dinner and when I say no she says “ok missy” and I know she’s mad but she always wants me to go there but she never makes to the effort to come to my house. We live about 40 minutes away from each other. Sometimes I don’t feel like visiting for a few weeks and she continues to bother me and wants me to go over. Am I right that she should make the effort too?

In general yes but sometimes people have circumstances of hardship eg physical ailment, depression, transportation or financial constraints etc, if thats the case I would cut the other person some slack even if it's 'not fair'.

My mom doesn’t drive more than 15 minutes away so if it was my mom, I wouldn’t even question it. Maybe analyze why she wouldn’t be willing to make the effort. 
Also, have you invited her over or are you expecting her to come on her own? 
The other thing is that parents tend to like their kids to come over bc they feel the nostalgia of having you back home again and they can spoil you with food they used to make back then. It’s a comfort thing I think.
