Longer period than usual.

My period is usually pretty regular as far as how many days it lasts but currently I am on day 8 when normally I have a 5 day cycle. I recently had sex for the first time & a couple weeks later my period has started but hasn’t stopped. Could me being sexually active be motivating the constant flow of things ? I know that 7-8 days is normal for a lot of women but for me 5-6 days is more on the normal side of things. Granted the flow is a light one & I haven’t experienced any of my normal menstrual cramping however I’m starting to get a little frustrated because this is longer than I was wanting to be bleeding. I’m uncomfortable and starting to chaf due to me wearing pads for 8 days straight ! (I only wear pads during my cycle it’s what I’m most comfortable with. ) Has anyone else experienced this or should I just go to my doctor if this continues another week?

I forgot to mention that I am 28 years old and has had a period since I was age 11 so I’m pretty sure about my body. This is the first time that this has ever happened to me. Also you read that correctly up ahead I was a virgin before February 6, 2023. Thank you in advance for any advice or tips you can give me.
