Left hanging

I lost my virginity to the guy I'm currently with and so he's the only one I've ever had sex with, he always wants to make me climax but I've only been able to do it once with his assistance. Lately he just likes to foreplay and then have sex and once he's finished the whole thing is over, he's given up trying to make me climax. Anyone have any tips that might help me and my guy out? I feel like I'm always left hanging and it's frustrating.
