First appointment when?

The facility I am scheduled with said they don't need to see me until 10 weeks "heartbeat" time. Is it normal to wait so long for a first appointment?

I went at 7 weeks - had an ultrasound and got to see my little bean! Did blood work and some other stuff. My next apt is at 10 weeks. I don't think I could have last till 10 weeks id go nuts!

I went in to confirm pregnancy and my dr said since I had 3 kids all ready I know all about early pregnancy so I don't go in until 10 weeks

Yes my dr likes waiting until 8-10 weeks. With my first I had no idea and it turns out I was only 4 weeks and couldn't really see anything on the ultrasound. At 8 weeks it looks like a peanut.

I went right away but I'm high risk and take a lot of meds but most people on here go between 8-12 weeks

I has a doctors appointment at 9 weeks and they scheduled an ultrasound the next day. But according to the ultrasound our little measured at only 7 weeks and 5 days. So I suppose I ovulated a little later than usual. That could be another reason why find doctors schedule your first ultrasound so late. Had I of had my ultrasound a few weeks earlier we may have barely seen anything and been unable to hear a heartbeat yet.

The range is usually 8-12 weeks just depends on the doctor and if you have had previous problems.

Mine was at 10 weeks. I had an appointment with the nurse at 8 weeks but it was only to give me some info on pregnancy and have my questions answered. It was really kind of pointless though.
